Welcome to Hillcrest-Estates
Located on Magunco Hill in Ashland, Massachusetts, Hillcrest Estates is Richmond Development’s most recent single family home construction project.
Characterized by large open spaces, walking trails and a planned neighborhood environment, Hillcrest-Estates is the perfect place for families to settle down and bring up children.
Located just 1 mile from a Purple Line “T” stop to Boston, Worcester and points in between, Hillcrest-Estates is an ideal place for the downtown commuter looking to live in the peace and quiet of the country, yet be close to the city and its benefits.
Hillcrest-Estates occupies land that was once a haven for the Magunco Indian tribe, members of the Algonquin Indian nation. The land eventually passed to farmers and for years harbored cattle and sheep in the many fields that were lined by miles of stone walls. In later years, the land returned to forests within which the walls can still be found.
A focus of the open space at Hillcrest-Estates is the Old Stone Bridge, which crosses an intermittent stream known by locals as Little Indian Brook. The bridge was constructed by a long forgotten farmer to provide access to his fields on the other side of the stream. It is difficult to imagine the effort that would have been expended by men and oxen to install the three large stone flags from which the bridge is constructed. The bridge continues in use today as part of a walking trail and bridle path that leads through western Ashland into the Hopkinton State Park.
Hillcrest-Estates is a great blend of suburban living in a wooded environment, just a few miles and a few minutes from a major US city, Boston, Massachusetts.
